CROSSROADS 50TH ANNIVERSARY CHURCH SERVICE

St Andrews Anglican Church, Mayfield
Sunday 15 May, 2011

Crossroads is a Christian Fellowship with a charter to provide enjoyable experiences for developmentally disabled adults on a part-time basis. The experiences include regular weekly Thursday evening entertainment and, from time to time, trips away for members. The fellowship is run by a Committee, with the assistance each Thursday evening from members of various Christian churches.

CNL Brass has been on the Crossroads entertainment list since the mid-seventies, presenting concerts twice each year. The band was very pleased to provide the entertainment at this 50th Anniversary Church Service.

CNL Brass presented two programs during the Service, each of about twenty minutes duration. Each program was very well received by members of the audience, which numbered about one hundred and twenty.

The first program presented was:
• The Pioneers (a March)
• Second Movement from the Concerto de Aranjuez
• The Floral Dance (a favourite number for the Crossroads members)
• Pie Jesu
• Swingtime Religion

This was followed by:
• Concert March-The Conqueror
• Lightwalk
• Minuet From Quintette in E
• Bob the Builder (another favourite)
• Selections from Godspell

It was a unique experience to play Bob the Builder in a church!! The applause, however, was loud and long.

CNL Brass looks forward to entertaining its Crossroads friends for many years to come.
