Aussie Made” Concert: Warners Bay Performing Arts Centre: 16 September, 2012

CNL Brass presented a two hour Concert Program, featuring musical works that were either written or arranged by Australian musicians, or contained Australian melodies.

An audience of about one hundred, mainly seniors, attended and were “full of praise” for the Program. In all, nineteen numbers were played, with two being very recent. The opening Britannia Fanfare, as arranged for a brass band, was first performed in November 2011 by Parramatta City Band. Included was another recent March, Lennox Bridge, written by composer and arranger, Michael Forsyth and only published this year. The theme music from the film A Man From Snowy River was a highlight of the Concert. Johnny O’Keefe’s rock and roll number Shout provided an interesting contrast, but the favourite, without a doubt, was Waltzing Matilda.
