CNL Brass responded to an invitation from Waratah Brass for both bands to present A Brass Christmas Concert. This commenced at 2pm and concluded at 4.30pm. The music chosen was mainly that associated with Christmas, such as well-known Christmas Carols and Christmas Tunes. Members of the audience were encouraged to sing when the carols were played. The “audience choir” (of which there were about one hundred and thirty) responded and obviously enjoyed the opportunity to accompany both bands.
CNL Brass opened the afternoon, presenting eight numbers, including the carols Hark, the Herald Angels Sing and Away in a Manger. Waratah Brass concluded the first half with four numbers, including the carol The First Nowell. Waratah Brass commenced the second half, opening with the popular arrangement of The Little Drummer Boy andplaying three numbers, with the audience singing along to Silent Night.
