The band entertained family members and friends with a thirty minute concert, playing tunes chosen by band members and also including carols for community singing.
Musical director Ron Boaden then had the pleasure of presenting the three annual perpetual trophies. The trophies and recipients were:
- Elwyn Hunt Memorial Trophy for Bandsmanship: Teena Wallace, a very talented solo cornet player.

Teena Wallace accepts the Bandsmanship Trophy from Ron Boaden - Alan Meldrum Memorial Trophy for Most Improved Player: Renay Clack, a member of the trombone section, who earlier this year changed from solo cornet to second trombone. This was certainly challenging for her.

Renay Clack accepts the Most Improved Trophy from Ron Boaden - Jim Adams Memorial Trophy for Encouragement: Elizabeth Wiggins, a member of the horn section. Elizabeth, a “senior citizen”, has only been playing for a few years, but she is enthusiastic, with a one hundred percent record of attendance.

Supper followed and shortly afterwards, the Christmas Hamper Raffle, with six prizes, was drawn. This raffle is an annual fund-raiser for the band. Louise Duck can thank her grandfather Ken, our second baritone player (and octogenarian) for purchasing the ticket that won her the first prize.
A special presentation was made by Ron and the Vice-President Geoff McGregor to retiring Eb Bass player, Robert Muir. Robert registered with CNL Brass on the 10th November,1991. The presentation was a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of twenty years of continuous and dedicated service to the band. Robert even enjoyed marching!! He assured us that he will continue to take an interest in activities of CNL Brass. Robert’s daughter Elizabeth will continue the family representation in the cornet section.
