David Walker, principal euphonium and president of CNL Brass, was presented with the Order of Australia Medal by the Governor of New South Wales, General David Hurley, at a Ceremony at Government House, Sydney, on Thursday 3 May, 2018.

This Award recognised David’s achievements over a long period of time. They included:
- Over fifty years as a musician in both Community and Army Bands.
- Teaching students to playing musical instruments.
- His past role as a Musical Director of brass bands.
- His role as Chief Marshall for suburban ANZAC Parades.
- His role as Warrant Officer in Australian Army Bands.
- His role as Bugler for many ANZAC Services for RSL Sub Branches, Schools, and various organisations
The CNL Brass committee and band members extend their congratulations to David upon his being awarded the Order of Australia Medal.
