Cardiff Brass celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a function at Belmont Golf and Bowls Club on Saturday evening, 2nd September 2023. The function was attended mainly by current members and their families, with a few players from previous years, as well as players from other regional bands who assist the band in its concert performances. It was an opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of others, as well as reminisce upon the many past events in which the Band had participated or presented. The photograph albums displaying photos over the years proved to be a motivation for conversations.

The Function provided the opportunity to include several awards:
- Arthur Howard – Citation of Life Membership of Cardiff Brass

Arthur has been playing in brass bands for sixty-five years and has been a loyal member of CNL Brass for twenty-five years, playing trombone.
